BIOGRAPHY
Emma Coats formerly led the personality writing team at Google, tasked with creating a friendly, approachable personality for the Google Assistant, in over 30 languages. She has been featured in Wired and TIME.
As a passionate believer in the power of storytelling, design and technology, Emma approaches ideas with a perspective shaped by all three. She’s built collaborative, creative, curious teams, encouraging writers to stretch into new territories of technology and incorporating procedural generation and machine learning.
Emma Coats got her start in the story department at Pixar, working on the Academy Award winning film Brave. While there, she wrote “22 Story Rules,” and in the years since, she’s spoken about story and characters to audiences in Norway, Canada, the US, and the UK.
