Simon Mundy is a leading journalist and author on the economics, politics and business implications of climate change.
He has reported for the Financial Times since 2010, and was recently appointed its Moral Money Editor. Here, he covers the push for a cleaner and more sustainable world economy for the award-winning Moral Money platform and across the wider FT.
In 2021, Simon published Race for Tomorrow: Survival, Innovation and Profit on the Front Lines of the Climate Crisis, a book about the global fight to respond to climate change.
Researching this book, Simon Mundyspent nearly two years travelling through 26 countries on 6 continents to tell the stories of the diverse cast of characters locked in this historic struggle – from communities hit by extreme physical shifts, to business leaders grappling with the implications for the world economy.
Simon Mundy started his career in Johannesburg, where he joined the FT to cover Southern Africa. After a stint as a corporate reporter in London, he spent seven years in Asia, heading the FT bureaux in Seoul and then Mumbai.
Simon diverts the bulk of his speaking fees to highly effective charities selected by GiveWell.
