BIOGRAPHY
Dr Nerina Ramlakhan is a renowned physiologist, sleep expert, author and speaker with over 25 years of experience.
Nerina spent a decade conducting sleep and wellness programmes at the Nightingale Hospital in London, having once herself been a patient at the same clinic several years previously.
Her mission and purpose is to help as many people as possible to regulate their nervous systems and sleep deeply, so that they can live more joyful and fulfilling lives. Her belief is that thriving is not personal and comes with a responsibility; we are all here to lend our nervous systems to those around us – the people we work and live with – to make a better world. We are here to be the change.
Nerina’s professional experience includes working with global leaders at Ashridge Business School and she was the original founder of BUPA’s Corporate Wellbeing Solutions. She works with individuals as well as large groups of people from various industries including professional services firms and sport (Chelsea Football Club). Her work has been featured in The Times, Telegraph and Guardian and she has appeared on numerous national TV and radio programmes including This Morning, Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast and Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4. Dr Nerina is also a Stylist editorial contributor.
Her recently published 4th book, Finding Inner Safety (Capstone 2022), suggests that an important way forward in these volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) times is to tap into our deepest sources of inner safety by understanding and regulating our nervous systems. She is the author of three other books: Tired but Wired (Souvenir Press, 2010), Fast Asleep, Wide Awake (Thorsons, 2016), and The Little Book of Sleep: The Art of Natural Sleep (Gaia, 2018).

NERINA RAMLAKHAN: SPEAKER
As someone who has had to work tenaciously to overcome her own long-standing issues with mental health and insomnia, Nerina combines her personal lived experience with professional, academic and practical insights. Her personal and professional experience have led her to the understanding that sleep problems are not simply about sleep, but rather about how we deal with life.
Importantly, they are about finding and embodying a deep sense of inner safety which impacts the world around us – our families and our organisations. Many of her keynotes and presentations are focused on showing organisations and individuals how to do this and she shares from a place of deep authenticity and passion.
